about jo

how did you become a storyteller?

Always a lover of stories – books, films, plays – I first heard about the Storytelling Guild when I was doing my Library Science degree but it was not until I attended National Folk Festivals that I really saw a Storyteller ensnare an audience of adults.  So when the Chief Guide at Vaucluse House asked me in 1999 for any suggestions for professional development as a Guide I chose to be taught by Yuri the Storyteller.  Before the first hour I was alight with the creative possibilities and when I joined the NSW Storytelling Guild I entered a new world.
